With the passage of Measure JJ at the November 2018 ballot, the Brisbane voters supported a General Plan Amendment that would allow housing on the Baylands site. The City of Brisbane is now tasked with implementing the measure, which will require a revised Specific Plan that will conform to the GPA’s various conditions and requirements. This process will require extensive community outreach.
At the January 17th Council meeting, the City announced that it was selected by Homes for All, a San Mateo County sponsored initiative that focuses on community engagement as it relates to housing. Homes for All will design and implement a community engagement process that will kickoff this Spring, to inform the vision and goals for the Baylands neighborhood. We look forward to observing these important, facilitated discussions. Once Homes for All has completed their efforts, we will incorporate the community’s input into the revised Specific Plan and Development Agreement. and are eager to roll up our sleeves and get started.
